I will overwhelm 'credible fighter' Jake Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua is set to fight the American YouTuber in an eight-bout fight which will be shown in real-time on Netflix.

Briton Anthony Joshua declared he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "defeat" his opponent as the combatants confronted each other to promote next month's heavyweight fight.

Ex two time unified heavyweight champion Joshua meets YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, theoretically, a mammoth uneven pairing - at Miami Kaseya Center on December 19th.

Boxer's Mindset

"I plan to injure his face and break his body up. My goal is to show my superiority," Joshua, 35 years old, declared.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's how fighters think.

"I will really want to hurt him. That's my intention."

Civil Exchange

In spite of those words, a calm Joshua and internet personality Paul - usually known for his showmanship - shared friendly words and kept it respectful with each other.

Jake Paul rather targeted ex Joshua's rival Francis Ngannou and described him as "a joke" after the Cameroonian rejected a match opportunity.

Targeting Tyson Fury

Joshua, in the meantime, took aim at UK opponent Tyson Fury - and rejected a large bet 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a Paul victory.

"Jake Paul outshines Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua said.

"I acknowledge that."

Serious Opponent

In spite of saying he intends to damage his opponent, Joshua declined to speak negatively about his rival's pugilistic talent.

"Jake is a credible opponent," he remarked.

Paul's History

Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has mainly boxed mixed martial artists or faded names since becoming pro.

He was defeated by Briton Tommy Fury in last year.

Commercial Attraction

However, the relative newcomer remains one of boxing's biggest financial successes, consistently making substantial earnings.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28 year old anticipated a stoppage in round four or five and stated he would derail the highly-expected Joshua–Fury fight, which is allegedly in the works for 2026.

"It will be myself against Tyson Fury next year," Paul said.

Physical Disparity

As the two fighters met for the usual stare-down, with their height and weight contrast clearly visible, it emphasized just how surprising this complete situation is - and how amazing it is that the match is truly happening.
